Marina Keuchkarian

Owner/Director of The Dance Space

Marina Keuchkarian is a dancer, choreographer, instructor and singer. She first studied as a child under Joan O’Brien and in her teen years became Joan’s assistant teacher.  With Joan she taught ballet, American Tap and jazz dance.  When Marina graduated high school, she moved to Orlando and went to the University of Central Florida.   There she began studying hip hop with Darryl Blackman, choreographer for pop sensations such as Jordan Knight, Aaron Carter and Brooke Hogan.

In 2003, Marina returned to Boston to study Foreign Language at Suffolk University.  She traveled to Spain with the university  to learn Flamenco and perform in Madrid.  When she returned to Boston she intensified her ballet training under the instruction of Nicole Pierce of Green Street Studios, the Artistic Director and choreographer of EgoArt, Inc.

In 2004 she began teaching at Nicole’s Studio of Dance in Waltham, Ma and she continued teaching there for 15 years.  Marina obtained her teaching certification with both The Dance Teachers Club of Boston and Dance Masters of America and taught children of all ages classes in ballet, tap, jazz, jazz funk, contemporary and hip hop.

At the beginning of 2008 Marina graduated Cum Laude from Suffolk with a B.A. in Foreign Language.  Her plan was to become a Spanish teacher, but by the end of 2008 Marina was working with world renown producer Louis Bell (hit maker for the likes of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, The Jonas Brothers and Post Malone) in an all girl vocal group in negotiations with Atlantic Records.  Marina left the group before signing to be a full time mom to her then 8 month old son.

In 2014 she founded the adult dance company Boston Dance Productions and worked with top Boston choreographers such as Skooj Choreo with Boston Contemporary Dance Project, Chris DiNicola and Devin Woolridge of Phunk Phenomenon and Sean Fielder of the Boston Tap Company.

Before moving to Cape Cod in 2017, Marina was working as an assistant kindergarten teacher in the Belmont Public Schools in addition to teaching dance classes.  Marina has always loved working with children and teaching them the technique of dance and the different styles.  Most importantly, she loves helping them to build their confidence and self esteem.  She wants each of her students to know they should compare themselves to no one else, be only the best they can be, and have fun learning to dance along the way!
